Here's an image from 36 x 5 min subs with my bog standard Canon 700D. This was from the ASV dark sky site on the weekend. Amazing what a difference dark skies can make. I'm still not on top of the processing, but I think it still came out pretty nice. I've done some deconvolution and noise reduction on it in pixinsight. I intend to do a bit more work on it.

Well done Marty great detail there. It just looks like it needs a bit more colour to really pop!

Yeah I need to work out how to tease out a bit more colour from it. It will be missing a fair bit of Ha though, given it's an unmodified camera.

I'm very pleased with how having 36 subs really cleans up the background noise - it was also quite easy to run deconvolution and TGVdenoise on this image. I wonder if having a lower level of noise to start with helps with this. I also need to sit down and play with the imageintegration process to see if I can optimise it more.

nice one Marty, I agree with Pete, crank up the saturation and or vibrance!

Still not entirely happy, but definitely a bit more colourful with the vibrance and saturation turned up. The dust has taken on a bit of brown colouration:

That's better from a colour saturation perspective, but you have taken the black too far either with contrast or with levels/curves. the result is black clipping. Take a look at the histogram next to your image on Astrobin and you will see that the wave shaped graph is jammed up against the left side. All of that wave shape should be away from the left edge or detail is lost. worth having another play with the data as it is nice and sharp. Cheers, Bruce.

Okay, I've reprocessed and it seems pretty good now. Time to move onto some of the other data I collected on the weekend!
