My Previous image had Auto White Balance (Dslr) which I thought showed to much redness over the entire sky, Kinda works tho - this however had 'daylight' White balance, & from a little further up the river !
Calling it - Beyond the Dead Stump hope it worth the Squizz ?

Very nice image Bob.
Always like these Earth meets sky images. Great contrasts between the greens, the dark sky, and the Milkyway.

Hey Cheers Peter, hope alls good yourway. yeah it came together eventually
Thanx much Pat, an hour or so in solitude with camera is keool.
This was 3 x 30 secs, with ICNR, Canon 600D, tripod only, Sigma 10-20mm @ 10mm F4. (could have done with 5-6 or more subs but I stacked the three to make an output image, then stacked the three again 'with' the output image hoping to kill a bit more noise, helped a bit more. the rest was basically Processing
appreciate your comment :cool2:

Thanx xelasnave - this was taken at a place called Pottesville in NE NSW Nthn Rivers ?
Simply epic, Bob. A shot definitely worth framing, in my opinion.

Nice one Bob.
It could be an optical illusion but it looks like the river bank tilts a couple of degrees to the left.
Mate, I'm very new to this genre and on a very steep learning curve with
PP but have found that the Gamma slider in PS is a great tool for reducing noise. All you seem to lose is the messy background, and it also makes the highlights pop a bit more.
Keep up the good work.

Thanx Eden, I have printed it A4 size (just off the full JPG File) for a lady friend, she is pretty happy with it
I haven't the chance to process the Raw files yet, one day I will and I have a zillion frames around the spare room. I will be keeping this pic for a good size print myself one day
Thanx !
Cheers Kev and I appreciate your points of view there !
Re: Illusion - the bank is sloped because the camera was not shooting square to the Rv, It was pointed at 45deg'ish up-stream, to accommodate the Mars-Bar , , , ooops, I mean the MilkyWay, , , :P
Agree, the background sky is plenty messy, but, I dont always show a photo as a 'Final' so to speak, speshly when I put this together on a half pint lappy with only the Jpg subs
Yes, PShop has an abundant of tools, mind you, im probably a little out of practice aswell, ,
Glad you thought it was nice :cool2:
