Gday, there might be some aviation enthusiasts amongst us who might like to know this ....the venerable F-14 Tomcat fighter jet ends its 36yr service career with the US navy on the 22nd Sept.I'll admit I used to be a avid modeller :P and a F14 always took pride of place in the collection , hell I even wagged school to go see Top Gun back in 86 :D Heres some links

The F-14 Tomcat is my all-time favourite.
An awesome machine and imho the best looking aircraft.
I loved building models of the F-14 too.

admittedly i was more in to WW2 aircraft tho, but the f14 is a great plane :)

IMHO Top Gun - top film, play "Danger Zone" full bore at any excuse

Avid kit model maker from way back and goto all the airshows I can.
Mainly made jets love em all favourite is the "St Louise slugger" - Phantom F4.

Yep - I'm with 33South. Whilst the F-14 is one of the worlds' greatest aircraft of all time, the F4 Phantom does it for me. That's my favourite of all time too. The anhedral horizontal stab to the sweep of the wings - it's all in perfec proportion. It's form over function some say, but that's OK with me. A top looker.
