No, make that flogged chook.
Reprocessed the 3h40 on IC2944 TOO MANY times now. No new data so this is the cooked, flambéd and stuffed chook. No wonder she is running...

Harsh criticism warranted and expected

I think all revisions bring something different to the table. Just depends what you like Lewis.
Thanks Lewis for the laugh mate. Your actually pretty funny. Your image is pretty damn good, perhaps a little soft but I kinda like that for this image, gives that dreamy foggy feeling. Nice colours too, I don't have any of that harsh critique you were hoping for. :P

My comment would be more on the composition than post-processing. For the same field of view you present here, I think there's much more interesting nebulosity surrounding the chicken dark patch bottom right, maybe rotated 90 degrees.

I'll echo Rex's comments. Looks great on my iPhone:)
Very good, especially with an OSC. Nice & dreamy!
How are you adding the Ha data Lewis? Are you using pixel math or similar to combine it with the red filtered fits master? Also for most Ha blends, only blend in 50% of the Ha to start with, then boost the colour before trying to increase the percentage. Sometimes you can't blend in the complete 100% without changing other characteristics of the image. On astrobin, I'm favouring rendition D.

I prefer D over E too. Maybe time for version F?

Thanks, but it's not an OSC - it's an SBIG ST-2000XM with Baader LRGB-Ha filters.

Yeah, I like D better myself. E was using some new fangled vaseline on the lens.
Honest injun, I swear my composition was deliberate - deliberately lazy that is - was a test sub to see if on target. Screen stretch looked ok, so dialed in 4 hrs and went beddy-by. Only 1 20 min sub reject (the shakes on that sub makes me think a possum climbed up for a look - I have to shoo one little bugger away often!!!)

I LOVE IT :) The Bok Globules are beautifully resolved.
I would add some minor sharpening after resizing for the intended screen size resolution, and also colour correcting that bright star on the left to be the blue it actually is all the way through and and out .. it appears to change colour 2-3 times from centre to outer shine.
Hope that helps!
