Hi all, time to post another image, again of a popular galaxy group, the Leo Triplet.

I again pushed a bit the processing here to make visible the most intriguing features of this trio, i.e. the spectacular tidal tail of NGC 3628, the hamburger galaxy.

Leo Trio (http://www.glitteringlights.com/Images/Galaxies/i-gbVmXJf/A)

This one is a classic LRGB composition, totaling 8 hours of light, half of that in Luminance. Unfortunately found out that several RGB fits were, well, unfit for the composition so the chroma contribution is somewhat less than what I use to add, however it turned out still good enough to bring vibe to the luminance.
Details on the galaxies are clearly limited by my relatively short focal length but I got my goal to image most of the tidal tail :)

Hope you will like it. As usual full resolution image is visible clicking at the dedicated bottom right icon on the web page.

Clear skies

That tidal tail is just spectacular - awash with detail.

That's a fantastic rendition of a northern hemisphere favourite, Marco! Double points if you managed that from Coona.

Cheers,
Rick.

Very cool Marco. Despite the lack of chroma data, you've certainly been able to make it punch. Thoroughly enjoyed the view.

Thanks all for the appreciation, this is one if not the most intriguing galaxy trio in the sky, and very well located too, visible from both hemispheres :)

Thanks Rick and yes, it was taken from Coona, from my observatory. In fact this area is much "easier" than the Pleiades since it culminate at 45 degrees of altitude, more than 10 degrees higher ;)

Thanks Keving, probably you missed the post from Leo that anticipated me several days with the same target :)

Thanks Leo, what is remarkable is also the color balance we got is very similar, probably we are following the same flow  Au pair with yours trio!
Ciao

Great photo Marco. One of the best renditions of the tidal that I've seen. Nice colour and detail in the galaxies as well
