View Full Version here: : Astrodogs?
Does anyone else have a faithful astrodog or two? Who diligently sits with them until the wee hours, gathering dew as the scope does....
I have two - longhaired Weimaraners, Marie and Gretel (now nicknamed Sirius and Procyon!)..... Marie has taken to nudging the dob when she wants a pat - usually just as I get the scope lined up on something *really* faint too.... still love them!
Hi Lee,
no dogs just an astrocat "Velcro" who does the same thing, he sits happily on the BBQ for most of the night catching and eating moths and miows when he wants a stroke. He prefers imaging because then he gets to sit on my lap at the computer.

Yep - here are our two.
The bigger one on the left, "Chops".... well.. she just runs around having a good time keeping everyone entertained. She's a bit of a clown and can't take any of this telescope stuff too seriously.
The one on the right is the very young (5 weeks old) new addition, "Bongo", and he is getting right into CCD imaging along with me. He is the more studious of the two.
The one in the middle is my wife. That's not her hair either... it's a wooly hat - ready for a cold night out under the stars... :)
Hey Chris,
the pup's look great in their little coats.
I like the boxes of Cabernet Merlot in the background is that to assist with the observing on a cold night LOL.
The DVD arrived as well, many thanks I'll watch that tonight.
cheers

The cabernet merlot..... hmmm We bought A LOT a little while ago. It's a good quality skin from the Barossa. We landed 35 cases for an absolute song. We're done for the next while........

I got one dog, she is a kelpie X border collie thats lays right next to the telescope. When I had the observatory she would come and lay down next to the scope. Quite a few times I have trod on her tail, but she always comes back.

My 2 Border Collies cannot be seen whilst observing coz they are both Black!!!!
I have tripped over them hundreds of times (Darren has too) so now they often get locked in the sunroom during observing time.
