Folks,

Captured on 5/5, somewhat earlier than Saturn, this one was more tricky to process. There's what looks like rotational effects on the edge and I've tried getting to grips with WinJUPOS :help:

There's a sneaky Europa in there too to give it the sense of speed :D sadly not round. Originally I'd hoped to catch the eclipse but got my times wrong :mad2:

Captured from a special location with decent seeing using my C8 Edge HD on EQ6 and QHY5L-ii OSC camera, stacked in AS!2 using 40% of 10,000 frames, with wavelet sharpening in Registax 6.

Any tips on WinJUPOS gratefully received :D as I have a bunch of other captures from earlier and later that evening that could be put to good use.

Update: so I've been experimenting with WinJUPOS and have added the first output that I'm reasonably happy with...it's actually from a batch of captures taken just before those of the first image, but with the red spot in the centre :D I'm pretty stoked, even though it's a bit overcooked...can't believe the difference :eyepop:

Update2: added a slight recook. A little less noise (tiny bit) and subtle difference in hue. Not sure which I like most :screwy:

Cheers,
Dunk

excellent work Dunk - WinJUPOS doesnt like moons away from the main disk (ie in transit). Have to stack separately/manually, and erase the blurry mess that WinJUPOS makes with the close by moons:lol:

Nice images there. Good detail. Especially from an 8" scope :)

Thanks Logan!

SkippySky had been forecasting seeing of 8/10, makes me wonder what 9/10 looks like :D
