I have a couple of Robofocus 3.1 Hand Controllers and motors. I noticed when I plugged one of the hand controllers in last night that both motors emit a high frequency low volume "squeal". I swapped motors and cable between the hand controller units and the cause appears to be isolated to one of the hand controller units only.
Has anyone else experienced this and have and idea what I can do to stop the noise from occurring. Whilst low volume it would definitely be annoyingly audible on quiet nights..

I had 2 Skywatcher HEQ5's that did the same with their motors. Bugs all poop out of you after a while in the dead of the night - VERY high pitched and definitely disturbed dogs.

Yes it is a bit annoying.
Just to clarify: the low volume whine comes from the Robofocus motor but only when only one particular hand controller is plugged to them. When I plug in the other hand controller there is no motor noise. From this I gather the issue lies with the hand controller box and not the motor (though the noise comes from the motor). The hand controller still works in terms of driving the motor...it just causes it to whine the entire time power is on.
Have any other Robofocus users out there experienced similar noise issues?it is a new noise not previously noticed. Please...any advice?

Could be the Duty Cycle settings on that particular unit. Anything above zero, and noise is emitted from the motor itself. The higher the number - the more load you can carry. Try zero. Worth a shot...

Thank you.
I will definitely look into that. The noise has only started the last fortnight and I've not changed any settings deliberately. The advice is appreciated Logan.
