Hi, I'm unable to get an image from webcam Phillips spc900nc on the software VLounge from the Phillips website when attached to Celestron cpc 800 telescope The webcam works on the laptop. I have downloaded the driver and focused at a distant object and then found the subject to be viewed on the finder, then adjusting video settings on the webcam software with no luck.:help:Please help

Firstly, You will only pick up bright objects such as the moon and planets.
The field of view through a webcam is very small, so objects can be hard to find. Locate your object with a normal eyepiece, centre it, make sure the scope is tracking properly, and then replace the eyepiece with the webcam. When you have located the object in the webcam you will quite
probably need to put a 2X barlow between the webcam and the focuser
to enlarge the object to a useful size. Locating the object when using a barlow can be quite difficult. All this assumes that the camera's
controls such as gain, contrast, and frame rate etc: are correctly set.

Have you checked it's all working ok during the day through the scope ?
Webcam default settings are daylight so low gain and hi frame rate whereas night and dim objects will require a bit more gain.
As Raymo says, use an EP to find and centre a bright star then start winding the focus back. You may need an extender to find the focal point or if it's a refractor start with trying the webcam in the diagonal so it's close to the ep focal plane.
