Oh well, 50mins of Luminance [5 subs] and 36mins of RGB [3 subs each] = 1hr 26mins.
It wasn't supposed to be so few a subs, but on the night the wind was relentless pushing most of the time around 20km to 30km. I had 31 Lum subs from the night, 3 had stair cases, the balance were just badly bloated from the heavier gusts. Terry and I were largely saved by wind shields we concocted, and these work perfectly for breezes up to 4-5mtrs per sec.
Luckily it was a bright object, as this integration time wouldn't normally work for most objects out there.

Hey, ya give'n Rolf a run here Steve with that sort of exposure time....show off
It's actually a very fine image of Centaurus A and better than many (most) I have seen and most with much more exposure
Your portable enclosure is very cool...almost makes me want to give up the dome and observatory and go back to a more rustic astroimagers existent! :)
Mike
Great portable setup Steve and impressive image very nicely processed.

That's a great result considering the circumstances. It's a great result even ignoring them
Cheers,
Rick.

Ditto with the accolades....plus I really like the mobile rig.:thumbsup:
Steve, the colours on the stars are terrific. Nice image given what we had to work with that night.

Almost beyond belief what you achieved in such a short time. Hearty congratulations.

Quite astonishing what you can do with such short exposure Steve. You've caught that Jet as well! Did you consider using the van as a windbreak?? Oh... love the mobile rig too!

That seems a very satisfying return on your time spent Steve, a lovely photograph.

Thanks everyone for the comments!
Cheers Marc and Mike, the wind break really does work and is very compact, and Josh, you know I love my van. Challenging Rolfs effort? I don't think so, but hey, worth a laugh, cheers Mike.
Trevor no matter what, its satisfying to get out when we can hey, imaging under the dark night sky is like a pressure relief value to the stresses of every day life.
Allan, the set up was a CDK12.5 + AP900GTO+STXL11002+AOX.
Thanks again everyone. :prey2:

Great image Steve! - especially considering the time, gives more hope to those of us who don't get much imaging time!!

I am amazed at the quality of the image with such little exposure time. Wow. A bit of background noise but you even got the jet.
I like the rig.

Very very nice!! In the north, we call 3628 the Hamburger, but this one qualifies too. Well done Steve.

You got a very nice image, with only 1.26 h exposure.
Even a hint of the relativistic jet is visble on the left.
Congrats

Very nice result considering the time spent! Even not considering the time spent it's still pretty good.
Cheers
