Sorry I could not find this by searching the site ...

Does anyone know if the TS 9mm OAG will fit between a Baader MPCC and a Nikon camera with the correct 55mm spacing?

And if so, do you know what adaptors to order with the OAG to achieve it?

(BTW, I've sent an email to TS and I am waiting for a reply. I'll post it here when I get it in case anyone else is interested. ).

Thanks guys

Mike

Hi Mike,

The Nikon F-mount has a flange to focal plane (sensor) distance or 46.5mm. If you add the 9mm of the OAG you get 55.5mm of back focus. Unfortunately this doesn't include the M48 t-ring that you will need to join these together (another 10mm approximately). In my opinion the Baader MPCC wont work with an OAG that thick on a DSLR. There are thinner ones that may get you closser. I am also unsure how much the extra 10mm will affect the MPCCs performance. Some coma correctors are very sensitive, others are not so. This is one of the reasons I purchased the Bintel / GSO Coma Corrector as it has a back focus of 75mm required. Enough to get all the right adapters between it and the mounting flange on the camera.

Anyone can correct me if I am wrong.

I hope that this Helps

Jimmy

Thanks Jimmy.

I was hoping there might be a way as I already have the MPCC.

Do you use an OAG with your Bintel coma corrector?

Cheers

Not at this stage, but I am looking into it as an option for the future.
