First time I've imaged this with digital. Wanted more time but high level cloud limited me to about an hour and a half. Needs 100! And a bigger scope. One for the future! I wanted to image it more out of curiosity than anything after Graham's refractor image to see how they compare with 30 second subs. My DSLR is standard unmodified and not cooled. I've also uploaded 1 30 second sub for comparison.

Details: 192 x 30 seconds unguided, HEQ5 Pro, Bintel 8" F4 Newtonian, Baader MPCC MKIII, Pentax K-5.

A bit from Wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antennae_Galaxies
"The Antennae Galaxies, also known as NGC 4038/NGC 4039, are a pair of interacting galaxies in the constellation Corvus. They are currently going through a starburst phase, in which the collision of clouds of gas and dust, with entangled magnetic fields, causes rapid star formation. They were discovered by William Herschel in 1785".

Thanks Graham!

Thanks Russell. The third one is just a crop.
