Hey guys.

What sites do you use to get weather information? Rainfall, clouds, storms etc.

I currently look at the BOM (http://www.bom.gov.au) (Beareau of Meteorology) site for the radar images (rain) and satellite images (clouds), as well as the Siding Springs NOAA Satellite Images (http://www.phys.unsw.edu.au/~map/weather/) for a combined cloud/rain.

Are there any others that you use that provide better/alternate information?

Thanks

Just to name a few :D

Any one of those can direct you to other sites within the weather community which should give you a broad spectrum of weather related links.

Mike, If you can get access to the aviation weather briefings , they will give you info as good as it gets. You might need a username password combo now but I seem to remember you could log in as a guest. I haven't used it for a while as I haven't flown for the past 5 years. I'll have a look as soon as I get some time and see if there's a way you can get access. The reports are a bit cryptic and require some decoding but it's not hard.

Thanks Andrew. Here's a list of acronyms, sorry there are a few not relevant here, but the weather ones are in there. Due to the nature of aviation, the forecasts that are available on the link Andrew listed, are the most current, accurate and area specific you'll find.:rain:

Had to know most of those acronyms off by heart when I worked in aviation, quite handy really, sort of an aviation shorthand.

It's not hard to tell what the weather is like tonight in most parts. There are 19 members on line at the moment! Must be great viewing weather.

It is crystal clear again here. I'm waiting for Sagittarius to rise higher.
