300mm Pentax lens shot/ST-X10ME combination.
4hr L, 1 hr R, 1 hr G, 1 hr B exposures.
Visually the constellation Chamaeleon is quite barren but the region including some neighbouring constellations is covered by this enormous complex.
Full resolution here.

A very difficult target. It would be good to get more contrast between the background and the dust areas. Thomas Davies was good at that. I am not sure what the processing techniques are to do that but I imagine it would have to do with exposure equalisation. Then some curves. Starting off with making sure there are no gradients or colour bias in the background.

Nice one. These are hard to image. At least for me. :P

That's a nice capture! Which version of the 300mm Pentax lens did you use for this?
Thanks,
Cheers

Lovely and dusty, Steven! I'd love to have a go at a mosaic in this area one day.
Cheers,
Rick.

Great looking wide photo Steven.
It's a beautiful object but so hard to capture and process.
Excellent work!
Ross.
