Thanks guys.... David, I did use a Barlow. It is Baader 2.25x
so I guess the FL is around 9000mm.

Excellent Mick, nice hex and rings with good colour too. Everyone gets some quality seeing occasionally but not everyone takes advantage of it like you have done.

What time was that about?

I didn't think the seeing was all that flash, when looking at Jupiter around 9 ish, and so i brought all the gear back in and got warm inside.
Looks like I should have braved the cold and stuck it out instead!

Phil; yes the 'HEX' is there, but not very sharp.... hope the 'B' of the 'RGB' cooperate better next time...it is always a challange of the right frame-rate/scale of image/noise etc.

Bob; I did look Jup and I find it was resonable for that low in the sky... so I left the gear up, and got some sleep...get up 1am and had a look Sat visual. Used my Baader Zoom on the C14 to evaluate the seeing. Was good enough to have a go with the little ASI120MM camera and get the laptop out...

You will never get as much detail in the blue channel it's just not there. Red is where it's best followed sometimes closely by Green. With your ASI120MM which are a bit noisy I would capture RGB filters the same settings for Saturn ie: 120-180 secs and try for a histogram of 70-80% which may give you around 30 fps using the C14. With reasonably good seeing you should be able to use 50% of your frames and with a gentle wavelet not only produce a nice Hex but also fine detail in the rings.

I find Saturn is saturate the sensor if the histogram is over 50-60%...not sure what would be the ideal seting...
....re fps, it is depend of the use and location of the Barlow...native FR for the C14 is f11, very bright pic and the ASI can do 120fps ...but small scale ....with the Baader Barlow I can do 1.3x or 2.25x pending the seeing...but dimmer image so the fps slower to get the noise/histogram compromise...
I thing the blue could get better if the jetstream cooperating... jet to happen over my location.
