Hi all,

Here's a Milky Way panorama taken last Thursday evening while camping at the Bunya Mountains. I had wanted to do a panorama after midnight when the galactic centre had risen, but fog came in on both nights. This one was taken between about 8 and 8:30 pm.

More details and a larger version available on Flickr here (https://www.flickr.com/photos/stephenmudge/16996249069/).

Thanks for looking!

Cheers,
Stephen

Looks like a magical spot Stephen. I've never managed to get up there - must rectify that.

Wow! Worked out wonderfully in the end, with milky way ending at the small cottage. Love it.

Which camera/lens out of interest?

Thanks David! It was my first trip out there, and it's definitely worth a visit. Nice dark skies and some great bushwalks.

Thanks Col. The skies were amazing (until the fog came in...)

Thanks Rob! For this panorama I stitched 26 images (in 3 rows), each being a 30 sec exposure with my Canon 6D and Samyang 14mm lens at f/2.8 and 6400iso. The pano spans about 270 degrees on the horizon (roughly from east through south to the west).

Cheers,
Stephen
