This is a 1:1 crop of the LBN468 data showing the fan-shaped Gyulbudaghian's Nebula (aka GM 1-29/HH 215) and associated Herbig-Haro objects.

Gyulbudaghian's Nebula was discovered by Armen Gyulbudaghian in 1977. It is a variable reflection nebula (similar to Hubble's variable reflection nebula) which changes shape and brightness over a timescale of months. The nebula is illuminated by a young star, PV Cephei. Polar jets from PV Cephei are responsible for the various HH 315 objects. These are small areas of nebulosity created where these jets interact with surrounding clouds of dust and gas.

This probably wasn't an ideal object for a short focal length scope but it didn't turn out too badly...

Very interesting find and quality image, thank you for sharing Rick.

It would be nice to be able to capture this nebula every couple of months over a few years to see the changes to its shape, colours and brightness.

Thanks, Slawomir. I have seen a picture from the 50s where the fan isn't present at all. It was just a thin strip of nebulosity radiating from PV Cephei.

I fixed the link...

Here it is, Lewis. Just to be confusing I rotated the GN crop by 180 degrees (actually, it was to match a diagram in one of the papers I found).

Doh! Sorry, Lewis. Here it is at full drizzle res (~1 arcsec/pixel). I presume this is another HH object or a close relative but I haven't been able to identify it yet. It's at RA 20:36:36.40 and Dec +67:18:35.8 and is inside LDN1152.
