I placed a paypal order 3 weeks ago today for a NexSXD motor board through the maker in Spain. I realise she makes these purely as a hobby, and she is notorious for taking a long time to respond, but 3 weeks after paying and not even an email confirming receipt of payment or anything to do with the order is wearing somewhat thin. I have received NIL correspondence from her since making payment. It's only 167 Euro, but it's enough...

All attempts to contact her have met dead ends, including having an astro-mate in Spain try to ring her.

What is the Paypal cut-off period now for seeking refunds? It used to be only 40 days - isn't it now 6 months?

I think paypal gives 180 days for disputes.

I'd give it another week and wait until the Easter holiday period finishes this week. Spain pretty much will shut down over Semana Santa week and throw school holidays into the mix plus no business ethic at all and really your order can be at any stage of the process and you'd be none the wiser.

I'm waiting on a few things that are normally here within two days but because of the period the post office and courier companies shut down and it's been a week and a half late so far.

I'm not making excuses for them because it's no excuse to treat your customers like this but at the same time this sort of crap is common here.

They may be building it, it may already be dispatched, who knows?
It will likely eventually turn up before you would ever get an answer from them but it's up to you.

At least paypal offers that protection.
