Eta Carina Nebula

Hi everyone,

I really have been admiring many Eta Carina images and I thought to have a try at posting my 3372 [some old date and some new]. It's inspired by Mike's terrific image, and later Paul's, and I'm surprised we can get the outline of the Homunculus in all that brightness. It's not easy to incorporate so commendation to the guys for their great work.

This image is totally captured in Melbourne, HaRGB. Luckily it is so bright; making it a possible target from home.

Yes the saturation is slightly overdone IMHO Steve but otherwise an absolutely excellent Eta!

Really nice level of detail, Steve. I've been guilty of some egregious saturation events so I won't comment on that :)

Well done on capturing the Homunculus too. Good detail though out. Hi res Carina Nebula is all the rage at the moment. There is some other areas I would love to get my teeth into in this great nebula.

Colours?...took some time but after a while they grew on me :)

that's got to be one of the best ever posted & I like the strong saturation -
the image has high impact - well done!
The bar gets higher & higher - who could ever beat that?

Lovely image Steve. Good detail and color too. It's all subjective and I go back and forth all the time on saturation, color, and sharpness.

Isn't it great to image from the house and still be able to capture a great image!

Thanks for the time to write, and I appreciate all the encouraging comments and the confirmation I should be taken away [thanks Marcus]!

It is rewarding to still try from home, but we just need a little motivation to compensate for the surrounding disadvantages.

I'll go back and have a look at the colours later on, and subdue them a tad - perhaps a little more than a tad is necessary though. :thumbsup: I don't write often, but I enjoy looking at everyone's photos and their creativity - its certainly inspiring.
