IISAC 2015 - A few more images from the Camp

Hi Mike,
Ken, Craig, Geoff and myself (Phil) came to Lostock this year as first-timers, arriving on the Thursday to set up camp. Fun - its been a while since I slept under canvas.... Very hot / humid on Thursday, but the Night Sky brought back memories of my trip around outback NSW/QLD. Friday was then really hot / humid, but we found the swimming hole, which provided relief. Late afternoon, the cloud came in, so no viewing at all, but another camper (Bill & Wendy?) had brought in a Fireplace & Wood, so a campfire was had. Excellent, although a few too many beers. Saturday was wet, so rather than stay until Sunday, we decided to pack-up and return home around lunchtime. A great weekend.:)

What's that in image three near Alpha Centauri? A head on meteor?

I think it's a second image of alpha centauri... I think the join hasn't gone well. I can see it at 4 o'clock from alpha centauri... all the stars along that line are duplicated the same distance apart. You don't see that very often.

I've sometimes had success, just redoing them. Other times I've had to select them for photomerging in a different order. In the old days I had a selection of software to try to get alignments, but I've only used PS for such a long time now. My last resort has been to manually align.
