Its been a while since I posted an image here.

I took this one last weekend in heavy wind. I had tuned up my mounts polar alignment, PEC curve and formed a large Protrack model for it which also makes tracking corrections.

AP140, Trius 694, PMX mount, MMOAG guider with STi with reducer and infrared filter.

4 hours.

More of a test really.

Greg.

Gorgeous image, Greg. Can't wait to see what you do when it's not a test.

Thanks very much Clive.

Thanks Lewis. I was happy with the result from only 4 hours.

Thanks Allan. The 77% QE of the chip shows through plus the totally dark site.

Thanks. I also have the AP reducer/corrector. That makes it F5.6. It distorted the guide stars in the MMOAG pretty badly though. I thought of a solution to that afterwards so if I can get it working well it may be the basic setup for that scope with that camera. Just a bit wider field works well with many objects.

This AP scope is super sharp and the sharpest optics I have ever used.

Lots of halo, Greg, and an impressive test. Looks to me like the background has a blue/green cast?

Cheers,
Rick.

Thanks Rick. I corrected that some more and its more neutral now, perhaps a tad left. I blame it on Mike's influence as he often has a bluish look which I quite like. So I reckon its his bad influence then?

Yeah yeah, pick on the Blue Angel :innocent:

Nice work Greg but I agree with Rick... and looks like you have damaged the stars a bit too, fix these and the Blue Angel will be happy - Amen :P

Awesome test! Can't believe it's Centaurus a season already.

I did get rid of most of the bluish background since Rick posted. Can you see more? Stars do get a bit stetched in the process. Perhaps I should mask them during the stretching stage?

Thanks. Yes its in a good position at the moment.

Thanks Steven. I've imaged this area many times I should try and add some data from earlier acquisitions as well as the fresh data.

Thanks Steve. Yes it has been a while. I have a few ready to be processed now. I've had a couple before but they weren't good enough and then endless cloudy nights here in Sydney have made it hard.

Greg.
