Hi All,

Here is a scan of a shot I took with my Canon EOS 100 film camera in the Namib Desert (Southern Africa) on Nov 25th(?) 2003, showing the Moon with Venus in attendance, and Mercury, which can just be seen about halfway between the Moon and the horizon at about 7 o'clock. The main reason for posting this is that Iceman has shown me how he adds mattes to his shots, and I have just added a matte to this capture, which I think it sets it off well. Thanks Iceman.

Regards,

Mike

That's a very pretty shot! Nicely done!

I like the matte/border too ;)

so matte is just a border?
i thought it might have been some sort of funky technical processing technique!

The matte is what you see aorund a normal picture in a frame, between the picture and the frame.

See Iceman's post number 9 on the Sydney Harbour Bridge thread.

Very easy, and very effective.
