Doing some NB last night and decided I didn't like the nauseating green the Hubble palette gave to it so I just concentrated on the Ha part. It's so dramatic. This is 6x5 minutes only with a SX H16 through an ED127. Just for fun!

Certainly not orthodox...but wow, it has very artful impact :)
Nice interpretation Peter

Thanks - and I agree it's a bit "arty ". So I've toned it down a fair bit. Trouble is, the Ha in this nebula is so dominant that it's hard to tone it down - without making it look flat and featureless, and without losing the definition in those amazing convoluted dust features.
By comparison, the SII and OIII are quite muted. So a standard SHO Hubble rendition can't help but be a green pea-soup.
Maybe I need more SII and OIII data. I'll add to it over the next week or so and see what can be done.

I'll show you how to fix the "pea soup" if I come up tonight, Peter!
