I got a call from a mate in Tassie. Aurora's supposedly visible as far as Queensland, but he's in cloud and rain. I couldn't see it by eye here (but I didn't wait to dark adapt either;)) but I have it in photos - red/magenta sky.
I had to dig the camera out of the tuck as I'm packed to go to IISAC...
I'll post images soon.

Damn and blast, I have a week off work but the whole S.E. of NSW is covered by high and middle level cloud, some sucker holes just to tease.

I don't know either, Dave, based on that map. I think my mate is on a Tasmania Aurora FB page or something. He got a heads up that it should be visible to Queensland:eyepop:, but he was clouded in.

Took this from my backyard in Leura in the Blue Mountains NSW at about 10:40pm when it was meant to be at its brightest. There is a red tinge to the sky and clouds - not sure if it is due to the aurora but my shots after this one definitely was no longer as red.

Was not visible from outer Brisbane suburbs, although with the way things are looking and if storm remains at Kp 7 we might have a better chance tonight.

It was seen as high as Goulburn last night in the early hours. KP index is still very high with a dense stream still keeping the storm going. Just a while ago it was KP8.85. Pity it is day light. If it is still going tonight I will head out. Last night was a bust due to cloud cover here.

I took several shots from my place but saw nothing. But then I am below a hill so the first 15 degrees of sky is blocked to the south.
Greg.
A spectacular sight from southern NZ right now.

We went south last night and captured some nice aurora. Small but nice. I will put up something once I have done some processing.

Nothing from Armidale last night. Beautiful and dark but no Aurora.

I processed some photos I took on the main night (nothing showed up in the LCD screen of the camera but when processed there was quite a bit).
Also last night the sky was basically all green air glow. It may be like that again tonight so its worth taking some nightscapes to catch that as well.
I'll post some images soon in the nightscapes section.
Greg.
Received a report it was viewable in Wisconsin but it certainly did not make it to 34N in the Texas panhandle.
