happy 350th birthday.:birthday:
On the 25th of march 1655 Christiaan Huygens discovered saturns mon 'titan'. It amazing to think that this was such a long time ago. :confuse3:
He Used a home made 57mm refractor at about 50x magnification. This is the equivalent of say your typical department store 60mm and a 12mm eyepiece.:astron:

So who here has a small enough scope to replicate this discovery? I am going to drag out my lil' ebay scope, dust it down and try on the 25th to duplicate the discovery. how bout you guys?

He would have had a reasonable view. What amazes me is that they managed to even make lenses way back then. I can make out Jupiter and 4 moons with my bushnell 60mm spotter at 25x mag :astron:. Why not drag it out; after all, I celebrated Einstein's birthday on the 14th!! :einstein:
