Seeing was very good on the 10th with just over 1 hour of the GRS captured. Last night the seeing was ok but the easterly wind made life very difficult and I gave up as I was worried the scope may get blown off the pier. lol:lol:

Certainly looks like nice data Phil, well done. Sounds like you need to house your scope in an observatory Phil, many times over the years the difference for me between getting data or not has been the protection given by my observatory.

Beautiful photos with the new ASI cam Phil! If I may ask what frame rate have you used to capture individual channels and how long each exposure was? I am quite impressed with updated specs although have noticed that the size of the chip is now larger (5.86 vs 3.75µm for the 120 model).

Thanks a lot for sharing your settings Phil, I have a few questions:

1) What does your gain slider allow you to set gain to maximum (is it around 900?)
2) 120 seconds for a single channel, are you derotating your AVI? I assume at 0.15 arcsec/pixel you would get rotational blurring after about 60 seconds from my conservative calcs - what are your experiences?
3) Why do you capture in SER instead of AVI?

Max gain is 400 though anything above 240 is software and only allows you to see it better.
Yes there is some blurring at 120 seconds and & yes I usually de rotate, however I use Ninox at 50% then stack in Registax with a mild wavelet and most blurring is nr the limb where little if any detail is present.
I always use .ser as I believe it has less overhead and cleans up much faster. Ninox also produces a .ser when finished processing.
Nearly all my settings have been arrived at by close consultation with experts like Anthony Wesley I'm just tweaking them as I learn more.
