OK own up !!

Who has been buying things astronomical???

With all this rain we have been having I'd say there has been a lot of amassing of equiptment going on.

I for one am to blame for some of it as I have just bought a Crayford style focuser 10/1 and a few minor odds and ends. But that would only account for and hour or two of clouds.

Fizz up now of forever hold your peace.

OK I confess - but only to a percentage. Bought an ETX 125AT (5-in) from Astro Optical on Tuesday 5 Sep and it's rained every day since. Adding up the confessions so far, there's still a big discrepancy. I reckon it's time for the the new 12-inch Dob owner to come clean!

I did wash the car and the bike on the same day though, whoops

Hello Bongo!
Nothing new here at my place. But I know of 4 other astronomers in my immediate neck of the woods that may have purchased lately.
The ants are still building their nests up higher so it doesn't look too good for me.

Well I'm selling to buy...lol ;)

finaly made a deal with the devil ( yeah and wife as well) to allow me to move towards a RC in the near future. Also with my old back being dodgy, I was thinking of the new 10inch RC,

So I'll make the big announcement when it's ordered...hopefully soon...

Lee - which UHC filter did you buy and have you had a chance to use it yet?

I'm looking to buy one in the next few days. I'm close to ordering the Lumicon UHC.

I picked up the Astronomik 1.25" UHC from Bintel..... I did use it to briefly observe the Lagoon last night - unbelievable difference..... I can't offer you a comparison to anything else as this is the first UHC I've looked through, but it certainly brought out a heap more nebulosity.
Not a big test I know, I was primarly out to work out how to polar align the G-11....

Couldnt help myself - got an Argo Navis for my LB 12". and as the box it came in wasn't very big, she thought in wasn't expensive.:D Shouted the wife a hair do. Yes you've guessed it moon last week and rain all this week.

I've just bought (and received) an EQ5 mount from garyh.

Um, well, sorta, but it wasn't all for me. Losmandy dovetail, Losmandy 2 axis camera mount, Stellarvue finder , UV/IR filter and a couple of other things, but nothing much honest.

Except for the 12" GS for the observatory about a month ago. :ashamed:

But that's all.......I think....I lose track sometimes :P

Ok, ok... I can't take it any more... I confess, it was me...:ashamed:. It was just supposed to be a simple father and son project, we never meant to hurt anyone .

It all began when Morbius Jr and I were putting the finishing touches on his new mini-dob. The last coat of paint was drying when the clouds began to roll in. By the time we put it all together the rain had well and truly set in.

It's not like we purchased anything... well, maybe a few eyepieces... Doh!

I did buy a new right-angle finder, Astronomik UHC-E filter plus a few eyepieces..but that wouldn't account for much cloud....could it??..I mean we need the rain..think of the trees..the frogs..and my medication is wearing off...LOL

Wish some of you chaps would come over here and buy some Astro gear to make it rain. Driest winter on record in S.A.

Now that you all have confessed the truth, the weather has much improved.
Arn't you all happy you can use your new products to explore the heavens once again?
