Hi All,
About two months ago my Sbig camera developed a major fault, though it had probably been showing signs of the fault for a few months beforehand. It was out of warranty by about two months when I first notified the Australian supplier.
I shipped the camera back to Sydney, from whence it travelled to the US and has now return, fixed. The invoice for the repair shows that the repair costing about $500 was still done under warranty, costing me nothing except the postage to Sydney.
Now, I know that under Australian Consumer Law I would probably have been entitled to the repair, but the fact remains that the supplier did this without question.
I have, in the past, not been totally committed to buying locally for these things, and even for this purchase I considered the initial purchase from an OS supplier. I'm now very glad I did not.
Now awaiting clear skies for some testing!
Cheers
Stuart
