Just to keep up the ASV domination of this section:)..

This is old data from last year that I have processed before using only simple tools.
Now I used a bit of deconvolution and masked sharpening to reveal some of the fainter stars in the cluster and some more structure in the core of the nebula. Problem is that I don't have a clue what the colour balance should be as I could nor find any reference RGB images on the net at this resolution.
The image was captured at 4000mm focal length with unguided 6sec subs for a total exposure of 6minutes.
This is a crop at 100%.

Thanks everyone for the comments and kind words.
I had a look on the net for similar images and a lot of them have more blue than mine, but when I try to boost the blue I get a lot of raspberry red that I don't like.

Love that close up. It's beautiful. What scope did you use? I assume you had a barlow or powermate?

Thanks Mark, but no Barlow used - on the contrary, I used a focal reducer as this was my 16" planetary Dall-Kirkham that has a prime focus of 6.5m. The Dall-Kirkham configuration has quite bad coma - which is not a problem for planetary imaging - so I designed a focal reducer that also corrects the coma but only has a useful field of about 10mm diameter and gives a focal length of 4m.

Oh wow! 6.6m at prime. lol. That's long! You should put this on the keyhole in carina and mosaic around eta carina and the finger. Lots of interesting stuff in there. All the Herbig haro objects as well on the other side of the cluster.

I have visited the Homunculus, a few years back, at 6.5m with a webcam ,but yes I will go back there eventually with a better camera.
