As said in the article, and I concur, having had concussion in the military, Concussion can be a very dodgy injury,and must be given the maximum time to heal.
Beside the shunt,the G forces on his neck and head could have a detrimental
effect on his recovery,so better to be safe than sorry.

Not a terrible thing for him to miss the 1st GP, the car is unlikely to be competitive for some time, so better for Alonso to be safe than sorry.

Pretty strange for someone who suffered “absolutely no injury” according to Ron Dennis – and then spent 3 days in hospital!
Somehow, I don't think we've heard "the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth" from McLaren yet!

Aside from the injury side of things, I tend to agree with you Julian, I reckon something is being held back.:shrug:
