:thumbsup:Whhoohoo, my first sun pic through the JMB solar filter.
I have been wanting to image one of these spots for so long, i decided to give it a go.
Canon 5dh through the ed80.
Focus is a very hit and miss thing when it is so small in the viewfinder, a powermate 5x is looking good for the next purchase.
looks well focussed to me :)
good job :D
where are you getting this sun from tho :confuse3:

Very nice Trevor.
Hmm, a Powermate x5 may be too much magnification for the ED80? I have used one on my Vixen 102mm f9 refractor but only when the seeing was very good. From memory, that would have been just 2 or 3 times in any one year. I get much more use out of the x2.5 Powermate.
Cheers

:)Thanks Ving, we have plenty of sun here today, as expected on a weekday:doh:
Thanks for the tip Dennis, maybe a 2.5x will be a good starting point.

You are doing well:thumbsup: . Try more shots either side of where you think it is focused and a number at each focus as seeing varies ..the more you shoot the better chance of a perfect "window" as the web cam guys will tell us;) .
Still that is a shot to be proud of:thumbsup: .. it raining here so thanks:)

Yep, raining here too! Nice photo! If the clouds part anytime soon I'd like to see some sun!
Al.
For focusing - make up a little Hartmann mask.... works a treat.....
