Not bad eh? Rain ALL weekend, again overnight and pouring this morning too.

We need the rain, hope it's reaching the dams..

But it would be nice for it to stop soon, so I can do some lunar imaging in the early mornings this week.

It's like that up here as well. I've had two nights in about the last three weeks where I've been able to get out, full moon and night after full moon

Indeed, it's nice to see a wee bit of precipitation. We've had just short of 85mm so far this month, most of that falling within the last couple of days. Unfortunately (and it's something I don't understand as it seems to happen often) the official Warragamba weather station again seems to have recorded much less. The dam in question is only about - this is an approximation - 12-15 Km south from me and in similar terrain.

I run a small automatic weather station. If anyone is interested you will find it at www.blaxlandweather.com (http://www.blaxlandweather.com)

I had nothing out my way except grey clouds, it was a case of all talk and no action. Today it is bright blue skies and not a cloud to be seen, that is until I set up tonight for some imaging.

cheers

Finally clearing showers and wind will ease here tonight. Tomorrow will be clearer than today with lighter winds from SE to E'ly. Warmer temperatures will occur.

Awww nuts!

Clear skies at 7:00pm. I set up - scope, table, laptop, all the gear. I get the collimation right after fitting Bobs Knobs and then align the new Telrad perfectly. What a unit! Beats the finder scope hands down for quick slewing - but not as accurate as the cross-hairs in the finder to getting really close.

Anyway - all ready to go..... 9:00pm.

9:15 - solid cloud cover.

(and I was wondering why the heck I couldn't focus Jupiter)

:P

The telrad really is a gem isn't it......

Bad luck about the clouds..... :( I gave it a miss earlier - looked very dodgy, mainly sucker holes.... of course its pretty clear now!

Crystal clear down here at the moment but the neighbour over the back has every light possible on in his backyard including all his garage lights. :mad2:
He can see me setting up most nights but it doesn't seem to compute and one night he asked me if I was having a bbq, I didnt realise that LX200's and Webber's looked so similar

I'll have another tomorrow night
