Hi all, I just got my first goto eq mount (sorry dob mob, ill never stop being one of you).
I have to say, im pretty excited while being equal parts scared due to its complexity.
I got the Saxon eq5 goto and im in the market for a nice small fast refractor along the lines of an eq80, just waiting for one for the right price.

If there is anything else thats in the same class of the eq80 and comparable in price, please fill me in :)

PS. Sorry for the clouds.

Congratulation on you EQ mount. If your looking for an ED80 watch the classified here, or if looking for a new one Explore Scientific is running a 25% off special at the moment through US dealers, like Optcorp and Telescope.net .I think the ED 80 is available for about $530 USD and you need to add about $90 USD for USPS Priority postage - tnis will land under the GST threshold. I noticed Andrews has the Skywatcher ED80 for $1099 Aud.

An even better option, if you can find one, is a used ED 100; the
extra aperture will cut your sub lengths down, and it's obviously
better than the 80 for visual.

I was actually going to get an ed100 with the scope but in the end i avoided it because it was something like f11.
If there are faster ones or there please point me!

You will find that the ed100 is f9 , these scopes are one of the best buys today in amateur astronomy .

 In what way Luke ? , all the Synta ( Skywatcher , Saxon , Orion , etc , etc ) all the ED100's are f9 , the ED80 and ED120's are f7.5 , do a google , you might be thinking the 100mm achromats ? they are f10 .
Brian.
