Hi

Any advice welcome!

I have a CGEM mount which i have a Starsense Guide, SkyQwifi and a hand controller.

To get the Starsense and the hand controller plugged in i needed to use an Aux port splitter. However i also have GPS kit that i would like to use, so could i add a second Aux port splitter to the second Aux port (Currently just supporting the SkyQwifi)?

Basically that would have 4 devices in to two ports via 2 x Aux port Splitters.

Cheer for any comments
Ben :thanx:

Isn't the GPS superfluous with the Starsense plugged in?

I don't know to be honest, i assumed that they would complement each other i.e. the gps telling the mount where on the planet it is & the Starsense System figuring out the orientation etc....

That was a totally uneducated assumption  to which i still do not know the answer

The purpose of the GPS is to give the computer some of the information it needs to compute its model of the sky, the other being the position of 2 (or more) stars during alignment.

The Starsense eliminates that...it zips around the sky snapping pics of snippets of the sky and deciphering what the stars are for itself and computing its model of the sky that way. It would have to compute the location and time as part of that determination based on where it finds the stars, otherwise it wouldn't be able to goto or track correctly.

In the interests of science, I would try it with just the Starsense and without the GPS to confirm that ;)
