From South Africa I took shots with a 6d + 85mm f/1.8 (squeezed to f/2.5) on a steady tripod (i.e. no tracking).
A hundred frames of each 6 seconds + flats + darks. No filters and Bortle 2 sky.
Used software: Deepskystacker 3.34.

This tells with enough frames and short exposure, nice widefields can be made.
