I have searched around this forum.. I don't think I have found my answers... what I want is info about Powermate x2.. what brand to I buy to fit to my Sky watcher ED80 telescope, do I need any other attachment to my DSLR camera??? I have a T-ring adapter..

Then I was thinking can I buy a 2X Canon extender to put on my camera and attached to my ED80..

I want to know what's best or better.. I can't find any pictures to see the different on the net.. I would like to get a clear and closer picture of Jupiter without hurting my eyes when I zoom it 10x on my Canon 60D on Live view..
Any help.. I am happy!!! I am new in this.. I want to achieve more!!!:thanx:

Hi Cola
with my SW ED80 I have a 1.25 nosepiece that screws to the t-ring , so it can fit into a 5x cheapo barlow
someone might correct me but 2x might'nt be enough
the best are Teleview powermate's . Have a look at Bintels website, but they cost a bit I've never used one
Someone else might be a bit more helpful I don't do a lot of astro photography (AP)

Cheers David

A x2 PM would work, you'd need a 2" to T2 T thread adaptor (or buy the TV expensive PM to T thread plus a T2 adaptor)
I haven't used one, but I did see some nice results with a x2 Canon extender, you'd still need the 2" to T2 T thread adaptor.
IMHO something will a good 3 element ED x3 barlow would be close to optimum (f 7.5 x 3 = f 22.5)

If you use DSLR's for astro-photography, it's well worth joining.
The group are at the cutting edge....
