For sale is my eight inch (200mm) IM815 Deluxe ~1/6 PtV or better according to the APM catalogue.
Optics are hand figured.
Primary is zero expansion "astro-sital" / "zerodur".
Its a 2004 model, but its not like they go bad.

Its an extraordinary planetary / lunar / DSO 'scope - easily the equal of a top-shelf, 6-7"Apo and its pretty good at star-splitting as well.
Cool-down is minutes thanks to on-board fan.
Holds collimation for months.

What it's not, is a wide-field instrument or a grab & go.
You will need a good solid mount (T-Rex, HEQ5 or better) and an equally solid place to put it.
I no longer have the time or fitness to enjoy it as I did.

New, from APM, the scope alone will cost you more than $7000 all-in with a 3-6 month wait.
Looking for ~ $4000. Am willing to dicker, but please, no low balls

Sale includes:
Scope and finder / brackets /rings.
Star diagonal
GSO / Crayford focuser.
ES 32mm WA Eyepiece
Telegizmos large SCT 365 cover

Any on-site inspection is welcome and feel free to bring your own gear.
If you need more information or would like more recent images, PM me here and I'll email them to you.
Thanks for looking.
Peter

Hmmmn,
Optically they are very similar, the 815 - IMO - a tad sharper due to its longer FL, smaller CO, and stupidly good optics. The 815 is easier to collimate and holds it much longer.
The Mewlon also has "spikes". I hate spikes. They are the main reason I sold my 210.

However, due to its open-ended design, the Mewlon cools down a fair bit quicker (if you house your scope in-doors), and is, IMHO, much better a scope than other Taks I've owned.

Trying to be honest here, so I hope that helps.
