Getting better

My wife is looking for the camera remote control so next installment shouldn't bee so blurry.

Women are NOT allowed to touch remote controls. T.V, DVD, Camera, nothing!!!

Remotes are Men's domain.

Still a pretty good pic even with the blur. I haven't tried the moon yet.

this is howing promise.
BUT, and there is always a "BUT", next move is to attach the camera to the scope.
I spent a long time with afocal imaging, of the moon and more especially the sun. I made a bracket to hold the camera, and allow a small selection of eyepieces in between.
I used to focus accurately by eye the scope/eyepiece, and then slip the camera on the "outside". I left exposure and camera focus, in fact everything to do with the camera, on auto. I got good results (well I thought so).
I did find that not all eyepieces were satisfactory for this type of imaging either, so maybe try a few others.

garys got it right. any good with you hands? build something to attach the camera to the telescope.

Or buy an adapter for about $79 from bintel. They're called the "Orion Steadypix adapter".

Use a fast shutter and use the self-timer mode to avoid the camera shake, which is the cause of your bluriness (if it's not focus, that is).

It's looking great though, you're on that slippery slope well and truly now! :)

Some Food for thought and action.

I think i'll have to establish a brains trust on how to adapt saxon 76mm's to camera stock etc.

I'll have a look at Bintel anyway.

Anyway I think the "Craziness" is starting to take hold.

I've spent two nights this week up untill about 2am.

I daresay that's the lot of an Astronomer
