Oh no - not another Aussie icon. I'm not into motor racing but Peter came across as a really nice bloke, a top guy, a decent human being.
Our condolences go out to those he has left behind and his legion of fans.
May you rest in peace Peter.
Regards
Dennis
This forum is getting morbid..... hopefully it is just bad reporting.
Geez, if I were someone like Allan Border I'd be careful......

Wow. Too weird for words.
2 Aussie icons in one week.
They reckon these things come in threes. Let's hope "they" are wrong.

The only thing I can find to make it managable is he like Steve left this place whilst doing no doubt what he enjoyed. It reminds us that death has no respect for fame.

After Sydney radio station 2GB requested that drivers (including me) turn on their headlights as a sign of respect, nearly every car on the Hume Hwy home (68km trip) had their lights on within 5 minutes. He was very well loved and respected indeed.
R.I.P. Peter. Jenny's and my thoughts are with Bev and your family.

Just heard on current affair that that tree has claimed 8 motorcycle riders in the last few years as well. I think something needs to be done about that piece of track.
Terrible terrible news, he was a great ambassador for the sport.
A true legend.

Very sad news,Kath and I,also have fond memories of "Brocky"
Our condolences to his family, friends, and fans.
Regards all.

Brocky will be sadly missed.
One of the true greats of motor racing, his Bathurst exploits are the main reason there is a Torana SLR 5000 in my garage.
Gone but not forgotten
Very sad news. "Brocky" was always the hero in our house. I remember watching him spend ages patiently signing autographs for kids and adults alike at his farewell race at Malalla.

 I'm right with you there. My "hero" car of the late 70's, early 80's - and I watched Brock dominate everything in them. A good friend of mine still has an original A9X in his garage. Like yours, it is a classic.
I heard the news on my way home last night, it was a long and somber 3 hour drive home for me. RIP Brocky.
A Tribute to Brocky, link posted on AFF.
