Well kiddies it's that time again, Avalon Airshow.
Apparently 2 B-52's will visit for a flyover display (they will not land), along with a display by the Singapore Airforce Black Knights precision aerobatic team. F-22 Raptor will be there along with RAAF aircraft (F-18A, F-18F, PC-9/A, you get the idea.

Didn't realise that B52's were still flying, amazing. I saw one on static display in Darwin, they're huge. I've always wanted to get to Avalon, maybe some time in the future, hopefully some IISers will attend and take some happy snaps.

Been there before for a single B52 fly-over, 2 together should get the ground rumbling. I've read of a US base being decommissioned and the pilots flew over in a large low formation and essentially shattered all the windows on the base! Not sure if true and will try and find the reference.
A couple years ago they did a display with the B1B and that thing taking off was one of the most impressive displays of raw power I've ever experienced at any airshow. The resonance that it imparts into your lungs and other organs is simply amazing!

I was in Darwin when the Buffs as they are nicknamed regularly flew in, very impressive. They could not take off with full fuel and always had tankers fly in with them. 3 B1B's also flew in once, and I actually saw one of them do a barrel roll, no crap!! Being a military airfield the non civvies used to get up to all sorts of tricks especially when an exercise was on.
When the B52's were in Darwin, they regularly did low level sorties through the territory and created havoc with the light aircraft operations. wake turbulence broadcasts were very common when they were in the vicinity of any other aircraft.
