Starting to get more into birding photography, was very lucky that the local cemetary is home to a pair of breeding BSKs (as well as what looks like a kestrel, a swampy harrier and a whistling kite). Pity about the overcast day, but beggars can't be choosers. I did quite a bit of photoshop with this one, removing branches to keep the image clean. 60D and 300mm f4.

Lovely capture Dave. You even get a sense of what it might be thinking, nice detail on its face!

Nice pose, but looks a tad soft due to missing the focus a whisker.

Cheers Reverend..

Thanks guys. yes, a tad soft - if you saw the original image, you'd know why. Lots of branches which I've cloned out, confusing the AF on the lens. It's a pity it wasn't hovering in clear air on a nice Blue sky day :( I'm new to birding photography, still learning a lot.
