Hi,

This is data from December.
Never quite sure how to process this area, anyway I set out to enhance as much as possible the surrounding nebula to the Tarantula.

I do like the many subtle variations the LMC nebulae.

8” F/4 astrograph , baader type 3 coma corrector,. HEQ Pro 5 mount, orion mini guider.
Camera.
Unmodded Cannon 1100D plus cooler box. 36 subs x 2 minutes at ISO 6400. Stacked in Deep Sky Stacker .Processed in Photoshop Cs2..

Cheers,

Justin.

Yes, you have done well with the colours.

I took some data of it a while back but mine looks yuck. I'll try again one day.

Really nice !

But what filters did you use ?

It looks like a UHC filter (?).

nice job Justin,

its definitely a difficult area to process, you've done well - the tarantula has come out greener than I expected - did you apply your usual 'unmodded dslr Ha boosting' technique this time?

Cheers

Russ

Thanks Jo!

The Tarantula is the biggest distraction when processing a widefield, I left that to last so I could concentrate on the surrounding nebulae.

Thanks Kevin!

This is the first image of this area that I'm reasonably happy with, had many attempts that went in the bin.

Thanks Dunk!

Yes really happy with the wispy faint stuff, first time where I haven't destroyed it when processing.

Thanks Skysurfer!

No filters, just dark skies ISO 6400 and lots of processing.

Thanks Russ!

No channel swapping this time just increased saturation especially in the red area's of the image.
No secret I like vivid colours.;):)

Thanks Rod!

Resisted the temptation to red it!:D Hmmm new processing term:question:

Cheers,

Justin.
