Another Jupiter from 19/03/05

Hi, here's another one from Saturday night
this was number 47.
As you can see the GRS has moved around to the other side this was the last shot taken about 4am.

Ok Mike give me some hints , how do you do animations?

You'll have to process each set of images to their best (post-worthy), and then you load each of the images into an animated-gif program, which will create an animation out of your set of images.

Make sure you process each image identically, same size, dimensions, colour etc.

Check this thread (http://www.iceinspace.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1026) for some programs which can create the animated gif.

Nice David, it looks a little browner then the first one you posted. Another thing you'll need to do for your avi is to orientate all the frames so the object doesn't jump all over the place when playing the avi.

Nice detail there David. Are you sure that you have only been doing this a little while? Seems that you are either a natural or have been practicing much longer than you let on. Lol.

In any case that is a very good shot. You might like to do some stacking in Registax3 and sample the shots to increase your image scale. However, this may not be possible if you have just stacked the images in Autostar suite.

Thanks Paul, years of practise with film and only a few good shots to show for it, lots of rolls of film though :-))
This digital stuff I am new at, only since late last year, but I've done my homework, and learned from many others who made the mistakes first :-))
I plan on trying taking avi's to see whats involved there, I must admit the LPI is so easy to use, lots less processing involved.
With this image if I try to pull any more from it it gets darker very quickly not quite as pleasing as the other more natural image.
they where taken quite a few hours apart and this was with Jupiter sinking in the west.The other image was taken with Jupiter almost overhead.
I have found seeing conditions have a huge say in how the image turns out, last night I couldn't get a decent shot not matter what I tried.

Superb image David, was it was taken with the LPI?

Hi Phil, Thanks, yes the LPI was used at around 250 exposures,
Scope was a C11 at F20, using a 2x barlow.
wavelet processing and colour balance using Registax 2

Hi guys - making animated GIFs is easy - there's lots of different software around for it, but I use the GIMP, cause it's free, and doesn't have some of the limits of other software.

e.g. you don't have to have all the images the same size in your animation, the GIMP will automatically crop the larger ones down to size.

Also, you can move, resize and apply any of the colour tools to each frame, whenever you want, before you save it.

If you search around you can find tutorials on it.
