NGC 3109 - another one not often imaged

NGC 3109 is a fairly low surface brightness galaxy in Hydra of which you don't see too many images. This image needs a lot more data but the weather has closed in again so I thought I would post what I had. It's not a spectacular one.

It's nicely done Steve and well processed, but I can see why it's not often imaged. It's never going to be something that jumps out of the page.

Looks like a cross between NGC 55 and NGC 247

If I am not mistaken this galaxy was a candidate for possible tidal streams?...so you could hammer it a bit longer and see what comes up :) Can you rotate the field to frame it better?

A quick google doesn't say much about visible tidal streams from NGC 3109 although this galaxy is influencing the Antlia dwarf. I doubt whether anything would be visible in my light polluted sky but I am going to try for some more data although the weather is seriously limiting what I can do these days. Sorry about the framing. I'll see what I can do.
