I've really enjoyed the beautiful bird photographs being posted here by Raymond, Trevor and Marios amongst others. I thought I'd post a few of mine- I've only just recently started photography as a hobby, through astrophotography, but have had a long-standing interest in it. I'm waiting for my Canon 17-55 IS USM to arrive to start some landscapes. Cant wait!

Heres a few of the birds I see around my property.

Nice set Luke. There appears to be a lack of quality, at a guess, mainly due to large crops. Keep at it.:)
Cheers Reverend.

A nice set of photos Luke.
Mine were just hand held with a 75-300 lens and I was lucky that they turned out as well as they did.
Keep at. And post ur successes.

Yes, the composition is poor and even the focus. The great thing about dslr's is that you learn from your mistakes so much quicker - don't have to wait for the roll of film to be processed.
Tour composition and sharpnesss is superb - what equipment are you using? Do you use a hide?

Thanks Trevor. These were taken with a Canon 100-400 IS USM - I use aperture priority and single point focus, and try to focus on the eye of the bird.
I'll keep trying.
