This was taken over the last new moon period.
Exposure: R G B L-> 70 60 60 100
Mount AP900
Telescope: 12.5" Plane Wave CDK
Camera: FLI Proline 16803.

I did my usual thing of looking up other postings on IIS for this object. No two are alike! The colour variation is wide, wide, wide.

This is the brightest member of a nearby galaxy group in Dorado and is about 50 million light years away. It is one of the brightest Seyfert galaxies.

Nice result Geoff, it's a very cool looking galaxy for sure, colour looks ok to me too...variety is the spice of life as they say :)

and again no sign of decon worms, excellent :lol:

Thanks Mike. The colour is what I've been getting in most of my galaxies--blue outer regions and orangey inner regions. Seems reasonable.

So did I decon or did I not decon? :question:

The detail is very sharp. Many background galaxies show very fine structure. The main galaxy is presented evocatively of its namesake. Quite lovely.

Another great looking galaxy photo Geoff.

Sharp detail and I love the colours.

You are building up a very nice collection of photos with your new setup.

Looking forward to more.

Ross.

Thanks Ross. I agree about the colours being nice, but I was expecting a little more detail than I got.
