Hi All,

Is SkySafari better on the iPad or the MacBook Pro? I have permission to buy it :) but need objective views on the best platform.

I hope to eventually connect up to my scope via iPad Macbook for viewing and Astrophotography.

Your views will be very welcome :)

I reckon on iPad - gives more flexibility to use it wherever you need it. It's a superb app, probably my favourite on the iPad, and it sees a LOT of use. I also use it when doing visual to control my mounts, but not for AP. For that, I use EQMOD on a PC.

It's best on an iPad - and I suggest using SkyFi to integrate it wirelessly with encoders on the mount so you can see where the scope is pointing. A MacBook is really awkward to use as an atlas or to see where the scope is pointing.

For imaging you'll
need the MacBook, though.

Why not just get Plus and get for iPad and Mac ;)

What are the main differences between Plus and Pro? And anyone know why its more expensive on the Mac?

May I add another vote for the iPad!
Have SkySafari Pro on it and it's a very manageable form factor. Just about perfect.

I used the Plus on an ipod for a couple of years cause that's all I had and it was ok...a bit small when scope controls are on the screen. Ipad would be nicer!
