Just a little taste of the local Summer landscape here in Devonport and environs.
The farmers here, without advice from exterior decorators, have done a wonderful job of brightening up the place, and these were taken along a 2klm stretch of road just 7 minutes drive from my home in town.

Hope you enjoy looking.

Thx Rev, it certainly makes the place look nice for the tourists :-)
I should mention that they are taken on a Canon 75-300 IS USM that I am not overly delighted with. In fact I think I am over usinf EF lenses on EF-S sensors and am looking to get a 70-200/300 made for the aps-c size sensor.

Thanks Hugh. I have no idea what the mauve/purple is in that top paddock either.

Beautiful photos and a beautiful area. Looks like Tuscany (but colder, I'm sure). My wife is from Hobart and we travel down to catch up with family every year or two. Missed out this Xmas and your photos make me regret it. We've covered a good bit of the island through the years but never been to Devonport or the North coast.

Thx Graeme. Just waved some visitors off after they had spent 14 days touring the island and their parting plans were, to dedicate the next 2 week trip to just the NW and West Coasts since they felt they missed out on a lot by splitting the time between N, S E and W. Hope that helps you plan the next visit :-)

Thanks Bob, i am glad you enjoyed them. It certainly pretties the place up when it would otherwise be yellow dried grass from the summer heat
