I observed the Lunar Grazing occultation of 2 scorpii last Thursday evening (21st August). A graze occurs when the lunar polar region just... well grazes past the star. If you are in the right spot the star disappears behind lunar mountains and reappears in the valleys.

I used my 8"LX90, video camera and KIWI OSD gps time inserter to observe at least 20 events.

The video can be viewed here...

The whole series lasted over 3 minutes but the video is in fast forward.

Enjoy...

In the vernacular of "Todays Youth" Dave, that was "way kewl" :eyepop:  I am impressed. I watched the Antares reappearance about a dozen times. It was fan:thumbsup:tastic.

Excellent work Dave - thanks for a very interesting series of movies. It was fascinating to see the flickering on and off due to mountains on the moon.

Cheers
