Here's a shot taken on the night of the 7th and a video footage compilation from the 7th and the 8th January. SONY NEX-5 30s subs ISO 1600. Stacks of about 100 and 140 subs.

The 7th had the moon a bit close but relatively clear sky. The 8th the moon was a lot lower but relatively cloudy. Can't get a break.

Video is on Vimeo. Pretty crude but you get the idea.

Bigger pics 18mm here (https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=6930D3AD12D5044C&id=6930D3AD12D5044C%211425&v=3) (wide field with lovely LP) and here (https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=6930D3AD12D5044C&id=6930D3AD12D5044C%211426&v=3) a close up from the 7th barely showing the tail.

Still trying to get anything out of the 8th of Jan subs. Very hard to extract anything from the sky glow and haze. Will post if I manage to get any.

PS: Forgot to specify gear used. It was an APO 90mm at 600mm FL guided on a G11.

Thanks guys. It was a good dry run. Looking forward with anticipation to Friday as the forecast still looks pretty good out west.

Hi Marc,

Great looking photo, especially coming from your back yard.

You have a lot of deatil in the tail.

Nice looking video as well.

Good luck on the weekend.

Ross.
